Does the finder need an app?
No. They can scan the QR code with their phone camera or tap the tag with a compatible NFC phone. An internet connection is needed to open the tag page.
Is FendTag a GPS tracker?
No. FendTag helps someone contact you when they find your gear. It doesn’t track where your tag goes.
Do I need a subscription?
Basic features are included with your tag, without a subscription. Pro adds optional tools.
What does Basic include?
With FendTag Gear Tags, Basic includes finder messages, email notifications when someone sends a message, managing multiple tags and Lost status. FendTag Emergency Tag includes your chosen emergency contacts.
Can I update my details?
Yes. Change your information from your account. The tag stays the same.
Where is my activation email?
We send it when your tags are dispatched. Check your inbox and spam folder. You can request another email from your tag page using Resend activation email. It goes to the recipient recorded for that tag.
Can I give FendTag as a gift?
Yes. Select the gift option when ordering and we’ll email the activation details to your recipient when their tags are dispatched.
Who can see my contact details?
Your FendTag Gear Tags page does not display your email address or phone number. FendTag Emergency Tag displays the emergency contacts you choose to share with anyone who opens its tag page.
Can I pause FendTag Emergency Tag?
Yes. Update your contacts or pause the tag from your account.
Does opening the tag page call someone automatically?
No. The person opening it chooses a contact and selects a Call button. FendTag does not detect emergencies or contact emergency services for you.

Is it a GPS tracker?
No. A Gear Tag gives someone who finds your item a way to message you. It has no battery and does not track the item’s position.

Your email address and phone number are not displayed on the public Gear Tag page. You choose what to share when replying to the finder.
How do I reply to a finder?
Read their message in your account and reply to the email address they provide. A message is not a guarantee that the item will be returned.

No. Finder messages, multiple-tag management and Lost status are included with Basic. Pro adds optional tools. Pro subscription purchasing is not currently available.
How do I activate a gift?
The gift recipient signs in or creates a free account, then uses the activation details for each tag. Each tag is activated separately.

Does opening the page call someone automatically?
The helper chooses a contact. A Call button opens the phone’s dialler; the helper decides whether to place the call. FendTag does not confirm that a call was connected.
Who can see my chosen contacts?
Anyone with the public tag link can see the contacts and phone numbers you choose to share. Call buttons do not make the underlying numbers confidential.
How many phone contacts can I add?
Up to two, with the same limit on Basic and Pro. You can edit their details and notes from your account.
